OKOBOJI, Iowa — The Dickinson County Nature Center will host a “Family Nature Night: Yucky Animal Candlelit Walk” program at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
“We chose yucky animal friends to share how some animals are yucky, why they need to be that way and how it makes them cool,” said environmental education coordinator Bryanna Kuhlman.
This walk will be outside to help socially distance and be less than a mile on trails off the bike path. Volunteers at this event will be wearing costumes such as a turtle, a squirrel, a wolf and an owl. They will explain how the animal they are is “yucky” and why it’s a good thing.
“It will be a fun, non-spooky candlelit walk where you can learn about some of the yucky things your favorite animal does,” Kuhlman said.
Family Nature Night lasts approximately 40 minutes and is free to the public. There is a limit of six families per time slot. Pre-register for one of the three time slots by calling (712) 336-6352.
