Southwest Star Concept girls clinch Red Rock crown

OKABENA -- The Southwest Star Concept girls' basketball team won its 12th straight game and clinched its second Red Rock Conference championship in three years Monday with a 66-27 victory over Round Lake-Brewster.

Brooke DeWall had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Quasars (17-0, 21-3), while Linnea Henkels had 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, and Adri Rasche registered 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Kelli Correll topped RL-B (3-14, 6-17) with 10 points.

SSC faces the winner of the ML/B-O-SWC game at 1 p.m. Saturday in Luverne.

EDGERTON -- Kaitlyn Kramer followed her selection as a finalist for Ms. Basketball with a near-triple double.

Kramer scored 28 points, recorded 10 steals and had eight rebounds as the Raiders knocked off Southwest Christian.

Laura Kramer added 15 points and Sam Raddle finished with 11 for Fulda (23-3), which opens Section 3A tournament play Saturday against either Round Lake-Brewster or Hills-Beaver Creek in Luverne.

Brianna Spronk topped the Eagles (4-19) with 18 points and seven rebounds. Kara Van Dyke followed with 12 points and six boards.

SWC takes on Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin in Thursday's play-in game at Ellsworth.

ADRIAN -- Sam Lynn recorded a triple-double (18 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds) as the Dragons stopped the Panthers.

Erica Thier added 18 points, five assists and five boards for Adrian (16-8), while Kelsey Tjepkes had 15 points and 12 boards.

Brooke Kramer led Ellsworth (12-10) with 20 points. Laura Timmer followed with 15.

Adrian faces MCC at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Luverne.

HILLS -- Amy Kallemeyn scored 25 points and had 12 rebounds as Edgerton won on the road.

Alyson Drooger had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Flying Dutchmen, while Alexa Vanden Bosch had 12 points.

Brittany Helgeson led four players in double figures for the Patriots (6-17) with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Kerri Fransman followed with 13 points, Chelsi Fink had 11 points and 12 boards, and Jocelyn Bucher had 10 points.

Edgerton (17-6) plays the winner of the W-WG/Ellsworth game at 6 p.m. Saturday in Luverne.

Krystle Sell followed with 22 points and seven steals, while Thea Engen had 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Falcons (12-12), who face ECHO-Charter in a Section 3A North play-in game Thursday.

Audra Schmidt topped Westbrook-Walnut Grove with 14 points.

Laura Beers topped Murray County Central with 23 points. Emily Bose had 10.

Ashley Fennern scored 18 for Wabasso.
