WORTHINGTON -- A "Celebrate My Drive" event today is designed to bring together community leaders, law enforcement and parents in support of this year's class of new teen drivers.
Worthington is one of more than 300 communities hosting simultaneous events across the nation.Hosted by State Farm agents Jessica Noble and Jason Vote, there will be giveaways distributed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the old courthouse lawn. Students will be asked to commit to not texting while driving by signing their name to a banner.
Interested community members can show their support for a local school by voting for the school to win a $100,000 grant at celebratemydrive.com through today. State Farm is giving a total of 14 $100,000 grants to high schools across the U.S. and Canada.
Fourteen teenagers (ages 15-18) and their families who participate in the school grant voting process will win a grand prize, a brand-new Chevy Sonic LS. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/CelebrateMyDrive .
