WINDOM -- The Cottonwood County Fair will be underway today and continue through Saturday.
Among the highlights is the Saturday night talent contest, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Arena. The event is being billed as the final such contest at the fair after 35 years.
The fair kicks off this morning with the 4-H horse show at 8 a.m. The day will continue with several 4-H events and culminate with the House Cat and Kitten Show at 6:30 p.m. in the Oleson Pavilion.

On Thursday, the 4-H food stand will have an early start at 7:30 a.m. 4-H animal shows will begin at 10 a.m. and continue to 5:30 p.m. A classic car show will take place later in the day, and a hypnotism show titled “Lizzy, the Dream Girl” is scheduled in the Arena.
On Friday, the first show will start at 7:30 a.m. with the 4-H swine identification and weigh-in at the West Swine Barn. Following a host of other events, the Ranch Working Rodeo will take over the Arena at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday will start with the 4-H Livestock Auction at the Arena and at Oleson Pavilion. The day will followed by 4-H Horse Fun Show at the Outdoor Arena. Activities in the afternoon include a scavenger hunt and carnival, and the fair will close with the talent show.
