ST. KILIAN -- After a one-year hiatus, The Misfits of St. Kilian are at it again.
The theatrical group will present the comedy, "Off with His Head" in four dinner theater performances this week. While Saturday and Sunday shows are already sold out, tickets remain for the 6:30 p.m. performances on both Thursday and Friday night at the St. Joseph's Hall in St. Kilian.
This year marks the 21st production for The Misfits, who had decided after their 2007 season to retire after 20 consecutive seasons. The retirement was short-lived.
"Late last fall, a few of the people who had been in the play had talked about maybe it would be fun to do it again," said Audrey Brake, organizer of The Misfits' productions.
With the consensus to bring The Misfits together again, Brake went looking for ideas for this year's production. Once she had verbal commitments from those willing to participate, she decided on, "Off with His Head."

"It's about a couple -- he believes in the supernatural and he's going to have this séance," said Brake of the premise for the show. Two other couples are invited for the séance, which is led by Madame Bali.
"It works out that of the three couples, one partner believes in the supernatural and one partner doesn't," Brake said. "All kinds of stuff happens after the séance gets started."
Making an appearance during the course of the séance is King Henry VIII, Cleopatra, Queen Victoria, King Solomon and Marie Antoinette.
"The problem is how do we get rid of the king and queen and get the regular persons back?" said Brake. "That's kind of the gist of the whole thing."
The dinner starts each night at 6:30 p.m., and features pork chops, baked potatoes, corn and cole slaw, with ice cream for dessert. The show gets under way at 7:30 p.m. This year's production involves 11 cast and three crew members, who have been busy rehearsing since late January.
When The Misfits organized for their first production 22 years ago, the money raised from ticket sales went to the St. Kilian and later St. Anthony schools. After both schools closed, it was decided that all of the proceeds would be split evenly among cast and crew members and then donated to the charity of their choice.
In the past, the proceeds have gone to Relay for Life events in both Nobles and Murray counties, Hospice, churches, McCrossan Boys Ranch, St. Mary's School in Worthington, the Wilmont Lions, area fire departments and for community needs.
