Barbara Cotton did not come home. That's really about all we know for certain about the events of April 11, 1981, in Williston, N.D.
The 15-year-old girl just vanished. Most of the other details are fuzzy at best, even to this day.
On Sunday, April 11, 2021, family members will honor her life during an outdoor celebration at Williston's Recreation Park. Barbara Cotton vanished near there 40 years ago after having dinner with a friend.
The event will take place from 2- 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Masks will be available but are not required. Friends and members of the community are encouraged to join and help honor Barbara and her life.
