Third suspect charged in September Ground Round assault

Security footage shows him at the scene.

WORTHINGTON ― A third suspect has been located and charged in a criminal case regarding an alleged assault that occurred at the Ground Round Sept. 27.

One of the victims in the reported assault named four assailants, including Alexander Vasquez, 24, of Lismore. In watching security footage of the incident, a police officer identified Vasquez, having had contact with him in the past.

Police were unable to locate Vasquez, but he reportedly called the law enforcement center when he heard an officer was looking for him. Vasquez allegedly denied being at the Ground Round on Sept. 27.

Vasquez was charged with gross misdemeanor third-degree rioting, which carries a maximum possible sentence of one year in prison and/or a $3,000 fine. He received a summons to appear in court. If convicted, he will be sentenced based on his criminal history.

His first court appearance is set for Tuesday morning. Because Vasquez was not booked into jail, he does not have a mugshot available.
