SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- Three individuals were charged Monday with first-degree murder following an investigation into a Friday incident at a Milford, Iowa, business.
Law enforcement arrested John Allen Swan, 30, of Crossett, Ark., Scott Thomas Adair, 29, of Crossett, and Michael James Friedrichs, 29, of Forest City, Iowa, for murder in the first degree, a class A felony. The charges stem from the death of Matthew Thomas Begtrup, 25, of Sioux Falls, S.D.
The investigation, conducted by the Milford Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, focused on an incident that occurred at about 2 a.m. Friday outside of a local business known as Zippers Gentleman's Club in Milford.
The Milford Police Department was assisted at the scene by members of the Arnolds Park Police Department, Okoboji Police Department, Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, Milford Rescue and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
