WORTHINGTON -- Nationally-known humorist and story teller Trent Loos will be in Worthington Monday night to share his agricultural message with attendees of the Nobles County Corn and Soybean Growers Agricultural Forum and annual meeting.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday, at the American Reformed Church, 1720 N. Burlington Ave., Worthington.
Reduced-rate tickets are still available at First State Bank Southwest, 1433 Oxford St., Worthington, during their regular lobby hours on Monday. Tickets will also be sold at the door for a higher price.
Trent Loos' radio programming includes the daily "Loos Tales" and "Rural Route," in addition to others. He can be heard on more than 100 stations across the country, and has a radio audience of 4 million.
Loos grew up on a diversified farm near Quincy, Ill. He entered the hog business at a young age and has been involved in livestock production ever since. Loos can frequently be found addressing agricultural and non-agricultural groups alike. Among his favorite audiences are our nation's youth where he takes the opportunity to talk with them about the importance of food as a matter of national security and the value of their involvement in today's food production system.
"I am looking forward to this annual event. It gives us a chance to celebrate the year in agriculture and fire us up to share our story as farmers on how we feed this growing hungry world," said Matt Widboom, Nobles County Corn and Soybean Growers president. "Please make plans to join us at this exciting event."
The Nobles County Corn and Soybean Growers Association is affiliated with the Minnesota Corn Growers Association and the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, both non-profit, farmer-controlled membership organizations working to assure profitable farming by monitoring government policies, educating the public about agriculture and supporting research and market development activities. The organization works with the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council to share the R.E.A.L. Story (Responsible, Ethical Agriculture for Life).
