Minnesota 60 open house is April 25 in Windom
MANKATO — Windom residents are encouraged to attend an open house for the construction of Minnesota 60 through Windom from 4 to 6 p.m. April 25 at the Windom City Hall, 444 Ninth St. Construction on the highway may begin as early as May 6 with lane restrictions and intersection closures.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to resurface Minnesota 60 from Minnesota 62 to 490th Avenue, improve sidewalk crossing for accessibility and, with the city of Windom, complete some sewer work. Staff from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city, along with the contractor, will be present to answer questions about the project.
Construction on Minnesota 60 will be done in phases with lanes reduced to single lanes in each direction. Left turns off of Minnesota 60 will be restricted at times, and motorists should expect delays.
More information, including graphics of the construction stages, can be found at www.mndot.gov/d7/projects/hwy60windom/. Duininck Inc. of Albert Lea was awarded the project with a bid of $3,146,877.
