MANKATO — After several false starts, the detour for the Minnesota 91 project north of Adrian will begin Tuesday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The detours are necessary for crews to complete bridge and culvert work.

MnDOT officials recently met with the contractor and have been assured that the bridge and culvert work will begin Tuesday.

Minnesota 91 from Adrian to Lismore traffic will be detoured to Nobles County 35, Nobles County 15 and Nobles County 16 for about three weeks.

The construction project includes bridge replacements and rural box culvert construction that requires detouring Minnesota 91. Resurfacing will be completed as well as sidewalk and driveway improvements in Adrian and Lake Wilson and additional lighting at rural intersections. The expected project completion date remains June 2020.
