WORTHINGTON — Pavement reconstruction in the Homewood Hills neighborhood is scheduled to begin Tuesday.
Segments to begin in order, with estimated start dates as follows: Maplewood Drive (1111 to 1240 Maplewood Drive), Tuesday; Sally’s Alley (County State Aid Highway 35 to Maplewood Drive), Tuesday; Briarwood Drive (Pinewood Drive to 925 Briarwood Drive), Thursday; Birchwood Place (Miles Drive to dead end), Sept. 9.
Work for each segment will take approximately three weeks, including at least seven days for the concrete to harden after it is placed. Weather conditions may extend the length of time required to return the street segment to use.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully near the construction zones, reducing speed and watching for equipment.
Additionally, street work on East Avenue from County State Aid Highway 5 (Read Avenue) east for 625 feet has been scheduled to begin as early as Wednesday. East Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Restricted local traffic with traffic interruptions will be allowed.
Weather permitting and construction proceeding as planned, the work should be completed and traffic restored to normal in about two weeks.
