Tri-State Band Festival is Sept. 25

LUVERNE -- The 60th annual Tri-State Band Festival will begin with a 10 a.m. parade Sept. 25, on Main Street in downtown Luverne. Nineteen marching bands will perform. Parade marshals are members of the 1951-1952 Luverne High School Marching Band.

LUVERNE -- The 60th annual Tri-State Band Festival will begin with a 10 a.m. parade Sept. 25, on Main Street in downtown Luverne. Nineteen marching bands will perform. Parade marshals are members of the 1951-1952 Luverne High School Marching Band.

A separate field competition among 14 bands will begin at 12:30 p.m., on the Cardinal football field, 709 N. Kniss Ave., Luverne.

Buttons required for admission to the field competition may be purchased during the parade, or at the gate at the football field.

Bands slated to perform from Minnesota are: Adrian, Murray County Central, Tracy Area, Pipestone Area, Stewartville and Worthington. From Iowa: Boyden-Hull, Sioux Center, Sibley-Ocheyedan and West Lyon.

The exhibition band is Hills-Beaver Creek Middle School; while host bands are Luverne Middle and Luverne High schools.
