The Worthington Trojans wrestling team split its two dual matches Tuesday in its triangular at Minnesota West, knocking off Fairmont (51-28) before falling to Fulda/MCC (58-15).
"We were happy with the win against Fairmont and we saw some bright spots in our match against Fulda," WHS head coach Mark Prunty said. "There were a lot of close matches in the dual. We won a few of the close ones and we lost a few of the close ones."
Fulda/MCC completed a sweep of the triangular with a 72-6 decision over Fairmont.
As for the Trojans, Jesse Canales (135) and Bryant Schroeder (215) both picked up sweeps on the night. In the case of Schroeder, his victory against Will Steinmetz helped counter an early-season meeting, when Steinmetz came out on top.
"It certainly will help his confidence going into the section tournament," Prunty said.

Worthington is at St. James Friday for a triangular with St. Peter.
