WORTHINGTON — The “Spirit of Worthington” Trojan Marching Band, under the direction of Jon Loy, returned home from Saturday’s 2019 Waseca Marching Classic Parade as parade champions.

Competing in Class AAA along with Lakeville South High School, the 170-member Worthington High School band took first place in Class AAA and was also received the Parade Sweepstakes award for receiving the highest overall score of the seven participating parade bands.

Additionally, the WHS band received caption awards for outstanding percussion, outstanding color guard and outstanding drum majors.

Next stop for the Trojans and their 2019 “We the People” show is the 69th annual Luverne Tri-State Band Festival parade at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
