NEW ULM -- Making 25-of-29 free throws and outrebounding New Ulm 29-16 Friday night, the Worthington Trojans boys' basketball team earned an 81-61 victory over the Eagles.
Mike Vorwald (17 points, six assists) drilled three early 3-pointers to help the Trojans build a quick 10-point lead. Worthington gradually kept extending its lead after that.
Joel Olson (23 points, seven rebounds) and Quentin Dudley (18 points) did the job down low for the Trojans.
"Those two guys each played a great game," Trojans' head coach Ron Vorwald said. "They did a nice job of finishing, defending and rebounding."
Adou Omot scored 12 points for the Trojans.

Brandt hit six 3-pointers, while Benson (five assists) drilled four from beyond the arc for JCC, which led 34-21 at halftime.
Derek Kazemba had 11 points and six rebounds, while Pat Garvin had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Huskies (4-7, 9-10).
Justin Schmit and Brock Bisaillon each grabbed eight rebounds for JCC.
Aaron Marks and Tyler Pendleton scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Cardinals (8-2, 17-2).
