Two arrested in drug bust

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office executed an early morning search warrant Sunday at 16620 255th Ave. in the Francis Sites area.

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -- The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office executed an early morning search warrant Sunday at 16620 255th Ave. in the Francis Sites area.

Mitchell Nordin, 24, and Drew Nielsen, 46, both of Spirit Lake, were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Plant material believed to be marijuana was seized along with several pieces of drug paraphernalia.

Nordin and Nielsen were booked into the Dickinson County Jail.

Assisting at the scene were the Spirit Lake Police Department, Spirit Lake K-9 unit and Okoboji Police Department.

This investigation is ongoing and more charges and arrests are expected.
