SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa — Following seven months of investigation, two arrests have been made in relation to the discovery of a body in a Lake Park, Iowa home December 22, 2020 .
The deceased was identified as Angel Bastman, 25, of Lake Park. The Iowa Medical Examiner determined the manner of death to be homicide.
According to a criminal complaint filed July 27, cell phone data and eyewitnesses placed two individuals at Bastman's home from approximately 10 a.m. December 21 to 5 a.m. December 22: Allison Decker, 26, and Justice Berntson, 24.
Shortly after Bastman's death, Decker and Berntson were found in Sioux City, Iowa, in possession of some property belonging to Bastman and her family members. Witnesses stated and cell phone records showed that both defendants made statements to others about being involved in killing Bastman, court records explain.
Both are charged with first-degree murder.

Decker is being held in Dickinson County Jail on $1 million bond, awaiting a Friday preliminary hearing. Berntson is being held in the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on $1 million bond pending extradition to Dickinson County.
