WORTHINGTON -- Two Worthington women, both on probation for unrelated crimes, were charged with burglary and more on Tuesday morning after allegedly breaking into a house early Sunday morning.

Each stated to authorities they were there at the other's urging.

Crystal Lynn Sanchez, 31, and Mary Yvonne White, 44, are charged with first-degree burglary-assault, first-degree burglary-occupied dwelling, fifth-degree assault-attempt bodily harm, fourth-degree intentional property damage and trespass. White is also charged with an additional first-degree burglary and fifth-degree assault.

According to the criminal complaint, authorities were contacted at approximately 5:32 a.m. Sunday regarding a report of two women who had entered a house wanting to fight with the residents. At the scene, an officer identified White and Sanchez at the top of a flight of stairs. A third female upstairs said she had a friend call police because White and Sanchez forced their way into the residence and then into her bedroom, breaking the lock on her door. She told the officer she was afraid for her life.

The man she is seeing used to date White, she said.

Sanchez waived her rights and told the officer she and White went to White's boyfriend's house, knocked on the door and were let in by a woman. She said White asked where the man was, then they found him and the two argued. White followed him out the back door, Sanchez said, and hit him several times. He tried to hit back but missed, Sanchez said, and when she thought he was going to hit her Sanchez threw a remote at him, which fell to the floor and broke.

The two women then went upstairs and knocked on the current girlfriend's bedroom door. Sanchez said White forced the door open and confronted the woman, whom Sanchez thought was scared.

White also waived her rights and agreed to speak, but her version of the event was slightly different. She allegedly told the officer it was Sanchez who wanted to go to the man's house, who had knocked on the door and who had wanted to talk to the other woman. She had dated the man for about nine months, she said, but didn't care that he was dating someone else because the two of them were no longer dating. According to White, Sanchez kicked open the upstairs bedroom door and yelled at the other woman. White also allegedly admitted she drank more than two pitchers of beer the night before.

The statements of several witnesses concurred White and Sanchez pounded on the front door and came in without permission and that White broke open the bedroom door and threatened to beat up the woman inside the room.

Bond for both woman was set at $5,000 each. Both were still in the Nobles County jail as of Tuesday afternoon.

White was convicted for first-degree sale of cocaine in 2005 and sentenced to 86 months in prison, which was stayed on the condition she serve a year in the county jail and 15 years probation.

Also in 2005, Sanchez was charged with motor vehicle theft and drunk driving. She pleaded guilty to the first-degree under the influence charge and the other counts were dismissed. She was sentenced to 42 months in prison, which was stayed on the condition she serve 180 days in the local jail and seven years of probation.
