MANKATO - Motorists can expect a detour on U.S. 59 from Minnesota 60 to Iowa 9 beginning April 25 as crews begin long-term repair work north of the state line.
Traffic will be detoured to Iowa 9 and Minnesota 60 for about two months.
The project includes reclaiming the entire pavement and placing a new surface that will last around 20 years and replacing most of the culverts, which are about 70 years old and in poor condition.
Knife River Corporation was awarded the project with a bid of $2,427,897.
