10:45 a.m. Sunday update:
BREWSTER — The Union Pacific Railroad continues to investigate the cause of a partial train derailment near the New Vision Cooperative fertilizer plant Saturday afternoon at Brewster.
According to a statement released this morning by Kristen South, senior director of corporate communications and media relations for the railroad, approximately 16 cars derailed in the incident.
“The crew was not hurt and nothing was spilled,” South wrote in an email. “Union Pacific crews are working to clear the cars and make any repairs necessary.”
Saturday’s train derailment occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m.

BREWSTER — Officials with the Union Pacific Railroad were on the scene of a train derailment near Brewster this evening. It appears that approximately 15 cars derailed in the incident, which was reported to the Nobles County Sheriff's Office at 2:45 p.m. today.
No injuries were reported in the derailment, and the Globe is awaiting more information from Union Pacific.
