ST. PAUL - Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura's reality television show is scheduled to debut later this year and run for at least seven episodes.
"Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura," scheduled for truTV, is produced by the folks who do "Hell's Kitchen" and "I Survived a Japanese Game Show." It was announced nearly a year ago, but only a pilot episode has been shot.
"We look forward to kicking off our truTV relationship with 'Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura,' and there is no one better than Jesse Ventura to host a show dedicated to revealing the truth no matter how dangerous," Executive Producer Arthur Smith said.
Producers are saying little specific about the Ventura show, other than saying they will send him around the world to investigate conspiracies, but offered a tease: "Now, Jesse Ventura is about to face his greatest challenge yet: uncovering the most compelling plots and schemes."
Just seven episodes of the show have been ordered by the reality TV network.

A former professional wrestler, Ventura was a talk-radio show host and sports broadcaster before becoming Minnesota governor in 1999. He left after one four-year term, but, during his time as governor, he was color commentator on NBC, covering a football league that failed.
After leaving the governor's office, he starred in an MSNBC show that lasted two months.
Ventura now splits his time between living in a Twin Cities suburb and Mexico.
