WORTHINGTON - Speedy Worthington racing turkey Paycheck took on the quick-footed Texan bird Ruby Begonia in the Great Gobbler Gallop, the Highlanders Pipe and Drum played patriotic music, Southwest Minnesota Honor Flight originator Earl Morse spoke and just about the entire entire town ate pancakes at the free pancake breakfast at King Turkey Day, Sept. 18, 2010.

In addition, Minnesotans and Texans competed in the annual King Turkey Day Cathlon in downtown Worthington Sept. 17, 2010, playing egg baseball, frozen turkey bowling and competing in the turkey toss. After the Day Cathlon, people tried to catch ping pong balls thrown from the roof of the Masonic temple downtown, in order to redeem them for prizes.
