WINDOM -- The Worthington Trojans gymnastics team capped its regular season Monday night with a 131.65-113.8 victory against Windom.
Christina Sorensen won three events and the all-around title before tweaking her knee during at the start of her beam routine. Sorensen, who did not complete that routine, is listed as day-to-day, according to WHS head coach Shelly Eklund.
Sorensen, before the injury turned in winning scores of 9.15 on the bars, 9.3 on the floor and 9.1 on the vault, to help get her a 33.75 all-around score, .25 points better than teammate Kayla Block.
The event itself is unique because, at Windom, two rooms at are used to house the events(one with floor and beam and another with bars and vault), forcing teams to have to shift from room to room, instead of simply going from one event to the next.
Worthington (5-1, 6-3) has its Section 3A meet Feb. 18 at Jackson. The junior varsity hosts a tournament Saturday.
