WORTHINGTON - The Worthington High School Trojan Jazz Band, directed by Jon Loy, achieved a score of 35.7 and a “superior” rating at Monday’s MSHSL Region 2AA Jazz Festival. WHS hosted the event.
In all, 16 jazz bands from nine schools (WHS, Chanhassen, Mound-Westonka, Hutchinson, Waconia, Dassel-Cokato, Shakopee, Chaska and New Ulm) participated in the festival, which included performances and clinics with adjudicators.
Only the bands from Chanhassen (36.3) and Chaska (37.3) topped the WHS jazz band’s score.
WHS is slated to host the Region 2AA Jazz Festival in 2019 as well.
