WOODBURY - The official cause of death into a Woodbury man drowning last month has been announced.

The Dakota County Medical Examiner ruled Curtis Allen Golla's death was accidental due to drowning, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Golla, 44, died Aug. 1 when he jumped from a dock at the Harbor Bar. Witnesses saw Golla entering the water, but never surfacing. His body was later found by a civilian search in about 10 to 12 feet of water.

Sheriff's deputies attempted life-saving measures but Golla was pronounced dead at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.

Investigator Doug Ducklow said there was "nothing suspicious" about the incident and evidence collected throughout the investigation showed them Golla jumped in willingly.
