WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Area United Way Campaign Telethon will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Worthington High School gym. Be a part of the live studio audience and enjoy a delicious meal, get a massage or a manicure and make your donation to the United Way.
The telethon will be broadcast live on AM 730 KWOA, 95.1 the EAGLE, 93.5 the BREEZE, WGTN Cable 3, and www.dglobe.com . Watch, listen and call in your pledge to your United Way.
Throughout the evening, several local groups will perform at the high school, including the WHS Drum Line, Kay Prunty Dancers- the Dance Academy, Bill Keitel (resonator guitar), Galen Benton (accordion), Teresa Widboom (singer), Eric Parish (singer), Youth Diversity Drama Group and the Quincinera Dancers.
Vendor booths will include Mary Kay, Cookie Lee, Avon, Tupperware, Avalon (manicures), Gettin Purse, Heavenly Hairbows, Pampered Chef, Discovery Toys and Party Lite.
Silent auction items for the event include: two Wild Rose Casino packages ($170 Stay and Play package, and an overnight stay for two with meal and Wild Rose bucks); King's Pointe Resort (one night stay in Lake View and four water park passes; 8x10 autographed photo of Kevin Williams of the Minnesota Vikings; a Minnesota Twins gift; Prairie's Edge Casino (one night stay and two buffets); Royal River Casino (getaway package); two Timberwolves tickets; four Sioux Falls Skyforce tickets; dinner for four at Alan Oberloh's home; and a Tailgaitor's Package from Sanford Worthington.
