FULDA - A Worthington man was killed early this morning in an apparent hunting accident.

According to Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening, Jeffrey Dean Nickel, 39, was found dead when first responders arrived on scene to Eagle Lake Wildlife Management Area southeast of Fulda.

According to the press release, the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office received the emergency call at 6:42 a.m. Saturday and first responders were dispatched to the wildlife management area in Graham Lakes Township.

Other assisting agencies included Fulda Ambulance, Brewster Fire and Rescue and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
