WORTHINGTON — A Worthington man was arrested early Saturday morning after a victim of sexual assault told family members of the crime.

The victim reported having had a verbal argument with Alfredo Perez-Florencio, 29, during which Perez-Florencio allegedly stated he would teach the victim a lesson and began hitting the victim in the face five or six times. He then allegedly pushed the victim to the floor and kicked the victim repeatedly.

The criminal complaint further details that Perez-Florencio removed the pants and underwear of the victim and grabbed the victim by the hair. The victim said "no," but Perez-Florencio allegedly proceeded to rape the victim while the victim's children watched.

After the assault, the victim fled the residence with the children and went to a family member's house. Perez-Florencio reportedly followed the victim, but was chased off by the family. The family member reported the assault to the police.

The responding officer noted that the victim had bruises, scratches and red marks in various places on the body. When WPD located Perez-Florencio, he had fresh red marks on the insides of his elbows and reportedly became defensive when the officer tried to photograph the injuries.
