Last Saturday, Johnson Builders & Realtors undertook a promotion of their business that also benefited the Worthington Area YMCA Capital Campaign Project.
The realty company offered to pay to the YMCA $5 for each adult 18 years and older who toured one of the homes available on that day for an open house. There were five houses available to be toured, so each adult could earn the YMCA a total of $25 with a cap on the fund-raiser of $5,000 if that person toured all five homes.
Johnson Builders & Realtors also promoted the event on the radio and in the newspaper. The weather was wonderful and the turnout was fantastic. The total count for the tour of the five homes was 810, which would have earned the YMCA $4,050.00. Johnson Builders, though, generously donated the entire $5,000 available for the promotion.
On behalf of the YMCA staff, Board of Directors and the Capital Campaign fund-raising committees, we want to thank Johnson Builders & Realtors for the great fund-raising event. We also thank the many YMCA supporters who took the time to tour the homes.
The YMCA would be happy to consider other fund-raising ideas from area businesses or individuals. If you have one, please contact Andy Johnson, YMCA Director.
