WORTHINGTON - A Celebration of Young Musicians Festival will be hosted Friday at Prairie Elementary.
This event is a gathering of 115 students in grades 3-6 from eight different schools and music programs in the Nobles County area. Students have been selected by their music teachers to participate in this all-day event of music making and performing.
Four master teachers will be presenting activities in creative movement, Orff instrument playing and singing, and world drumming. A concert at the end of the day will feature the massed chorus directed by Julie Aune of the Mankato area, as well as examples of the music making in all of the areas mentioned above.
Schools represented include: Adrian, El Sistema Imagine students (from Nobles County schools Adrian, Ellsworth and Worthington), Fulda, Heron Lake-Okabena, Prairie Celebration Chorus, RLB (Round Lake-Brewster Elementary), Sleepy Eye Public School and St. Mary’s School of Worthington.
The concert begins at 1:45 p.m. in the Prairie Elementary gym. The event is free, and the public is welcome to attend.
