REGIONAL — Nobles County recorded one new case of COVID-19 in the 24-hour period that ended at 4 p.m. Sunday, with the total number of positive cases in the county at 1,632 since testing began, according to Monday morning’s status update by the Minnesota Department of Health.
Six Nobles County residents have died thus far from the novel coronavirus.
The number of positive cases in neighboring counties was 123 in Cottonwood County (two new cases), 53 in Jackson County (one new case), 47 in Murray County, 28 in Rock County and 15 in Pipestone County (one new case).
Statewide, MDH reported four new COVID-19 deaths as of 4 p.m. Sunday, bringing the total now to 1,384, with another 32 individuals considered to be probable victims of the virus. Among the dead are 1,095 individuals who had resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities. Currently, there are 332 patients hospitalized in the state, including 156 individuals in intensive care units.
Thus far, 33,227 Minnesotans have tested positive for COVID-19, with 308 new cases during the last 24-hour period ending at 4 p.m. Sunday. Of those who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus since testing began are 3,392 health care workers. Statewide, 29,065 individuals no longer need to be in isolation.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reported that Dickinson County currently has 201 positive COVID-19 cases (with 75 recovered), Osceola County 49 (45 recovered) and Lyon County 36 (30 recovered) as of Monday. Dickinson County has two deaths from the novel coronavirus.
Thus far, there have been 26,053 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, with 16,160 of those now deemed recovered. There have been 686 deaths reported in Iowa.
Nationwide, there were 2,286,457 positive cases of COVID-19 and 120,036 deaths as of 11 a.m. Monday, according to information from Johns Hopkins University.
