WORTHINGTON - A Worthington man was arrested Thursday after being stopped in a vehicle that was reported as stolen.

Julio C. Ornelas Yacuta, 22, faces a charge of felony motor vehicle theft after two homes were reportedly broken into and a vehicle missing when the owners returned home from vacation.

The victim reported that Yacuta did not have permission to drive the car, despite Yacuta’s claims that he was given permission from the victim’s family member to borrow it. The victim reported that the vehicle’s keys were in her locked room, which had multiple drawers open and items thrown about when she returned home. Other property that was reported missing from inside the home was also recovered.

His conditional bail was scheduled at $10,000 and unconditional at $50,000.

A mugshot was unavailable by press time.
