SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Worthington Post 5 American Legion baseball team placed fourth last weekend in the South Sioux City Tournament.
Dakota Valley defeated Worthington 5-0 in the decisive game on Sunday after the locals clinched the No. 2 seed after pool play.
Ben Rogers started and was relieved by Michael Iverson in the Dakota Valley game, but the Dakota Valley pitcher was outstanding, shutting out Post 5 on a four-hitter. He walked two and struck out eight.
Four of the DV runs were unearned as Worthington committed three errors in the game.
