Daryl Duane Quiring

Daryl Duane Quiring, age 76, of Worthington, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Daryl was born on August 10, 1944 to Otto and Anna (Grotte) Quiring. He attended Worthington schools and graduated in 1962. Daryl then served in the United States Navy for six years. He was united in marriage to Lynette Schaefer and born to this union was a son and daughter. They were later divorced. Daryl was employed with the City of Worthington, beginning at the Power Plant, followed by the Waste Water Treatment and finally spending his remaining years with the Street Department. He went on to marry Janice Rae Wendling in 1991, with this union he became an amazing stepfather to a daughter and two sons.

Following his retirement, Daryl was able to enjoy his hobbies including hunting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors, attending his grandchildren’s many activities, riding his Harley, and being a winter Texan.

Daryl is survived by his wife, Jan; son, Chris (Jen) Quiring; daughter, Stephanie (David) Ross; step-children, Brandee (Joe) Ostrem, Jeffrey (Nicole) Wendling, and Jeremy (Kylie) Wendling; siblings, Marianne Armstrong, Barb (Mick) Christians, and Doug (Sharon) Quiring; fifteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Mark Schreiber officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
