David E. Wallace

David E. Wallace, age 92 of Eagan, formerly of Worthington, MN and Bella Vista, AR, passed away peacefully at his home on January 17, 2020 with his loving family at his side. Dave proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and also served in the Army National Guard for 25+ years. He was actively involved in the American Legion for many years and served as the Commander of the Worthington American Legion. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 41 years as a mail carrier. Dave was honored to serve on the Worthington School Board. During his tenure on the school board, he enjoyed being involved with the planning and building of the new junior high school. Dave and his wife Bev were long time members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Bella Vista, AR. They were both very active in their community and often did volunteer work. After Dave and Bev retired, they moved to Bella Vista, AR where they spent 22 years enjoying warmer weather, golf and many new friends. They moved to the Burnsville area in 2011 to be closer to their family. Dave is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Bev; parents, David J. and Nelle Wallace; siblings, Jack (Clary) Wallace, Kay (Larry) Andrews and Pat (Dale) Krekelberg; brother-in-law, Carl Nolde and infant grandson, David Lawrence Wallace. He is survived by his children, Scott (Raedelle), Jan Gilmore, Bob (Marilyn), Mike, and Patty (James) Field; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sister, Jane Nolde, and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday January 24, 2020 at Mary Mother of the Church, 3333 E., Cliff Rd., Burnsville, MN with a gathering of family and friends starting at 10 AM at church. Private Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the following: Fairview Hospice, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network , American Lung Association.
