Donald “Bud” Kepka

Donald “Bud” E. Kepka passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley, IA at the age of 89, 11 months and 2 weeks.

Donald was born on February 3, 1930, in Worthington, MN, the son of William and Mabel (Lambert) Kepka. He was the twin of Donna. Donald grew up west of Worthington and went to country school. He farmed with his dad.

Donald married Eva Mae Edwards on October 27, 1950, in Worthington. He entered the United States Army in 1951. Donald completed his basic training in Fort Smith, Arkansas and from there went to Germany. After the service, he returned home and continued to farm with his dad. He was a member of the VFW, 4-H, and the Church of Christ.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Beverly Roland of Lakefield, MN; two sons, Paul Kepka of Worthington, MN and Gordon (Gina) Kepka of Hammond, WI; two grandsons, Jeremy (Kim) Roland of Jackson, MN and Alex Neamy of St. Paul, MN; sister, Donna Hieronimus of Rushmore, MN; great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Abigail, Katelyn, Madison and Joshua Roland; two step grandchildren, Malarie and Jerin Miller, and great step grandson, Mason Krear.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva; son-in-law, Rodger Roland; sister, Dorothy Burket; granddaughters, Dawn and Sarah Roland, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at the Worthington Christian Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Doug White officiating. Donald’s sons and grandsons will serve as casket bearers and his great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers. Burial will be held in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN and also one hour prior to service at the church.
