Douglas D. Ahrenstorff
A private family service was held for Douglas D. Ahrenstorff of Lake Park. Douglas D. Ahrenstorff was born in Worthington, Minnesota on May 5, 1938, to Sig & Lillian Atzen Ahrenstorff. He grew up on the family farm in Sioux Valley and graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1956.
He and Karen Kay Reimers were united in marriage on September 7, 1958, in Lake Park, Iowa. They made their home in Sioux Valley, where Doug trucked and farmed. Doug and Karen enjoyed fifteen years of retirement at their Round Lake cabin, and wintering in Fort Mohave, Arizona. Doug’s hobbies included checking on local farming activity, attending auctions and tinkering with his collection of vintage tractors and lawn mowers.
Doug is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Karen; daughter, Jana (Bart) Mueller of Concordia, MO; sons, Neal (Cheryl) Ahrenstorff of Lakeville, MN, John (Emily) Ahrenstorff of Sioux Valley, MN and Kurt (Lisa) Ahrenstorff of Round Lake, MN; eleven grandchildren, Jill, Sam, Nicole, and Brett Mueller, Haley, Jordan, Lucas, Mason, Zach, Jake, and Kyle Ahrenstorff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, and two brothers, Marlis and Floy Ahrenstorff.
Turner Jenness Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
