Jim Reisdorfer

James was born on November 4, 1928 on a farm north of Lismore to Jacob and Gladys (Nicks) Reisdorfer. He attended country grade school and graduated from Adrian High School in 1946.

Jim married Angeline Roemeling on April 19, 1949 at the Adrian Methodist Church. They settled on the family farm where they had five children. Along with crop farming, Jim milked cows and raised hogs for many years. Jim was one of the first farmers in the area to start soil conservation and received special recognition for his efforts. He and Angeline lived on the farm until 1998, when they moved into Lismore.

Jim served in the Army National Guard from 1984-1951. He was an active member at St. Anthony Catholic Church where he served on the parish council and was one of the first members of the Knights of Columbus St. Isadore Council. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and had served as Grand Knight. He enjoyed camping, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family.

Jim was 91 years old when he passed away on September 4, 2020 at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.

Jim is survived by his wife of 71 years, Angeline; four children, Randy (Mary) Reisdorfer, Ron (Jeri) Reisdorfer, Rick Reisdorfer and special friend, Mary Crow, Renee (Terry) Peterson; 12 grandchildren, Cory, Glen, Jill, Chad, James, Eric, Jessie , Jemie, Justin, Jolene, Kristin and Kelli; 29 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Anita Reisdorfer and Shirley Reisdorfer. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Roger; four siblings, Robert, Eldon, Dale and June; a daughter-in-law, Diane; and infant granddaughters, Nora and Amelia Reisdorfer.

A memorial mass will be 10:30 am Sept. 11 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Adrian Funeral Home is assisting the family.
