Loretta Mae Yeske

Loretta Mae Yeske, age 96, of Worthington, MN, was born on October 30, 1924, in Lennox, SD, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Wenzel and Mae Belle Davis Wenzel. She grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls, SD.

Loretta married Spenser Albert Yeske on January 31, 1943. This marriage was blessed with five children. They farmed for 18 years and she enjoyed working alongside Spenser. In 1968 they moved to Bigelow and later moved to Worthington in 1992.

Loretta was an active member of Bigelow Methodist Church for 65 years, later known as Bigelow Community Church until it closed. She then transferred to American Reformed Church in Worthington. Loretta was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. They enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ for several years and 40 years of fishing trips on Lake Ida. She had many interests including reading, playing cards, bingo, flowers gardening, and doing embroidery.

In 2006 she moved to the Meadows in Worthington. Loretta passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

Loretta is survived by five children, Marcia (Doug) Anton of Worthington, MN, Carolee (Dave) Witzel of Liberty Lake, WA, Renee (Ron) Ubl of New Ulm, MN, Robert (Barb) Yeske of Okoboji, IA and Joel (Vonda) Yeske of Worthington, MN; nine grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

Private family services will be held Wednesday morning at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
