Lyle Otto Wolf, age, 80, of Sioux Falls, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Avera Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born on June 6, 1941 at St. Kilian Hospital in Wilmont, MN to Celestinus and Mercedes (Probst) Wolf. Lyle studied school in Owens, Iowa, his family moved to Adrian, MN where he attended St. Adrian Catholic High School. He served his country in the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Lyle married Mary Cook on May 1, 1965, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple ran Lyle’s Farm Store, which was a feed store business in Jackson, MN. He and Mary were able to take several trips. He also enjoyed the Spirit Lake area boating and fishing with family. Lyle later retired and moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa and then to Sioux Falls, SD to be closer to his family. Lyle cherished many years with family. He enjoyed traveling to Hutchinson, MN to watch various sporting events that his grandchildren were a part of. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren in Sioux Falls in various activities. Lyle enjoyed riding his bike, woodworking, and assisting in various home improvement projects with and for his children. He loved to help whoever and however he could.

He was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and could be seen every morning at daily mass. During his time as at Holy Spirit he served as an usher and greeter. He was a lifetime member of the fourth degree Knight of Columbus often helping with pancake breakfasts, and various other group activities. Lyle devoted his life to his faith and his family.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Mary Wolf of 56 years whom he unconditionally loved and adored; his three children, Eugene Wolf, St. Paul, MN; Terry (Michelle) Wolf Sioux Falls, SD; Deb (Todd) Card of Hutchinson, MN; seven grandchildren, Isaac, Jacob, Margaret, and Samuel Wolf, Tayla, Tate and Treyton Card.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Celestinus and Mercedes Wolf, and several other brothers and sisters in law whom he enjoyed spending time with.

Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 1 to 3pm. A prayer service will follow beginning at 3pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, in Sioux Falls, SD. Lunch will be served immediately after the funeral in the Parish Hall downstairs. Burial will be at the St. Adrian Cemetery in Adrian, MN directly after the luncheon.
