Nancy Teerink

Nancy Sue Teerink (Lemmerman) age 80, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born on December 1, 1942, in St. Cloud, MN to Lester and Beatrice (Hunter) Lemmerman. She graduated from Sauk Rapids HS in 1960 and Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. While student nursing in Worthington, MN, Nancy met her beloved husband of 50 years, Norman Teerink. They were married on January 18, 1964 and raised two children Jeffrey and Melissa.

Nancy was a highly respected ICU/CCU nurse at Worthington Regional Hospital for over 40 years, retiring in 2005. She had the respect of everyone in the hospital, including doctors and administrators. “Nancy was an example of what a great nurse was. If she was on, you knew the shift would be good.” Nancy received the Worthington Regional Hospital Nursing Excellence Award in 2002.

Nancy’s Christian faith was very important to her. She was a dedicated member of American Reformed Church. She enjoyed her time with the children teaching Sunday School, VBS and cooking Wednesday meals for Kids for Christ. She loved to help and was always willing to serve on the Care Committee, Hope Circle, Mobile Wheels and Adult Bible Study. ARC was the source of many wonderful, life-long friendships.

Nancy’s fun personality and spirited humor will be missed by her surviving family; son, Jeffrey (Susan) Teerink; daughter, Melissa (Scott) Ericksen; grandchildren Emily, Cooper (fiancée Kaylee), Ellen and Tessa. Sister, Kay (Douglas) Rolighed and many other family members and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Norman, son, Michael, and her parents.

Nancy’s life will be celebrated at American Reformed Church in Worthington on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Lunch and Interment to follow. The service will be livestreamed by American Reformed Church, Worthington.

Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society, Cancer Society or the American Reformed Church.
