Sarah Marie Wass

Sarah Marie (Huls) Wass, was born September 3rd, 1995 in Worthington MN to Richard and Wendy Huls. She grew up in Worthington and graduated from Worthington Senior High in 2014. She attended one year of college and then returned to Worthington, working at Hy-Vee where she spent most of her time as a barista and as Manager of Caribou Coffee and then Asst. Manager of Starbucks. In 2016 she and Eli Wass started dating, and he proposed to her out on the farm during the annual family New Year’s Eve fireworks. They were married on July 10th, 2017 in the little church at Pioneer Village. Sarah and Eli have lived in Worthington, on an acreage near Okabena, and finally bought their own house in Okabena, living there with their two cuddly cats, Earl & Honey. Sarah was the type of person who had a smile for everyone she met. She loved watching the sunrise or sunset with a good cup of coffee cuddled up with her cats, spending time watching videos or movies with Eli or just hanging out with him while he worked in his shop or tagging along on his many crazy adventures. She loved shopping, either for clothes or accessories, (giving advice to her sister about what goes with what) or for gifts for those she loved. She was excited about remodeling and decorating their house to make it a home. She especially loved doting on her “niblings” and spending time playing with them. On March 18th Sarah and Eli were involved in a pickup truck roll over, and she died on Good Friday, April 15th from many complications that occurred from her injuries. Sarah leaves behind the love of her life, husband Eli, two cats Earl & Honey, her parents, Rich & Wendy Huls, sister Laura (Joey) Blattner, brother Jon (fiance’ Lexus) Huls, her in-laws, Warren & Jan Wass, sisters & brothers-in-law, Axel (Sasha) Wass, Bridget (Michael) Harberts, Isaac Wass, Megan Wass (Landon Martinez), and AJ Wass, nieces & nephew (“niblings”) Liesel, Abigail, Nadia, Leo, Tillie & Kaylee, Grandmothers Arleen Huls and Verla Eilers, aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.
