Troy Allen DeBoer

TROY ALLEN DeBOER, age 55, died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born June 7, 1966, in Rock Rapids, to Eugene and Donna (Dietz) DeBoer. Troy grew up on a farm in Rock Rapids, IA and graduated from Central Lyon High School.

Troy married Karen Klingenberg on August 10, 1985 at the Zoar Presbyterian Church in George, IA. The couple lived on an acreage near George before moving to Adrian, MN in 1986 and purchasing their current home in 1987.

Troy was a hard worker and skilled with knowledge of many trades. He most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always at the center of a good time, known for being quick with a joke or a witty remark. Troy was very active with his favorite activities: reserving the winters for shooting pool and watching the Cowboys and the summers for golfing (and playing softball in the eighties and nineties). He always appreciated jamming out at a good concert and a peaceful nap.

Troy is survived by his adored wife, Karen; daughter, Kassanna (fiancé ~ Michael McDonald) DeBoer, St. Augustine, FL; son, Mitchell DeBoer, Omaha, NE; brother, Cordell (Rochelle) DeBoer, Rock Rapids, IA; and sister, Kelly (special friend ~ Dusty Dreesman) Cuperus, Rock Rapids, IA; his mother-, brothers- and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and many, many more beloved family, friends and teammates.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Donna DeBoer.

A time of fellowship will be from 4-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorial service will be 11 am Friday at the Adrian United Methodist Church, in Adrian, officiated by Pastor Daren Flinck. A private family committal of cremains will be at a later date.
