William (Bill) Reetz

William (Bill) Reetz, of Rushmore, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington, MN. Bill was born on December 23, 1952, in Jackson, MN to Frederick and Zita Reetz.

He attended school in Jackson, MN. After graduation in 1970, he attended Jackson Vocational Technical School studying Agriculture, Fertilizer and Auto Body. He worked in auto body repair for 31 years, owning the Jackson Body Shop for 10 years and manager of John’s Body Shop for the remainder. Bill drove truck for Buffalo Ridge Concrete for 17 years.

Bill married the love of his life Christina (Cox) on May 24, 1975, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. After marriage, they made their home in Northrop, MN, Jackson, MN, and Rushmore, MN where they raised their 3 children.

During the summer months he could be found at gas engine shows with his dad and brother. His passion was restoring vintage cars and gas engines. Bill loved the thrill of finding a good bargain at a garage sale, antique store, or a flea market. He loved his annual ice fishing trips to Lake of the Woods.

Bill is survived by his wife, Christina of Rushmore, MN; three children, Amy (Trevor) Patten of Bellevue, NE, David (Andrea) Reetz of Wilmont, MN, and Corrie (Roy) Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; ten grandchildren, Ashton (Sarah), Sheldon (Ashley), Jordan, Braden, Abigail, Morgan, Kierra, Brynn, Gavin, and Nolan; siblings, Fred Reetz, Linda (Dean) Pederson, and Jim (Teri) Reetz, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Zita Reetz and an infant sister, Marie Ann.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel First United Presbyterian Church in rural Rushmore, MN, with Pastor Randy Knuth officiating. Pall bearers will be Ashton Klumper, Sheldon Klumper, Michael Pederson, Steven Pederson, Bryce Reetz, and Hesston Christians. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, MN.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
