OKOBOJI , Iowa — The Okoboji Summer Theatre will take guests back to the musical hits of the ’60s and ’70s in the lively jukebox musical, The Marvelous Wonderettes: Dream On, through Sunday.

It’s 1969 and The Marvelous Wonderettes are back at Springfield High to throw a retirement party for their favorite teacher. The four ladies sing their way through the greatest girl-group hits as they bid Ms. McPherson a fond farewell. The classic pop and rock hits of the era provide the perfect soundtrack for their 20th high school reunion.

On Friday, the Spirit of Harmony Chorus will sing music of the ’60s for pre-show entertainment at 7:30 p.m. at OST’s Weaver Patio. There will be a post-show discussion on “Women Who Rock,” on Friday with Janice Hill, a 2021 Iowa Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame inductee in the category of Women Who Rock. Hill will be joined by Clay Norris, executive director of the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association.

Curtain times are 8 p.m. through Saturday, with a Saturday matinee at 4:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets may be purchased at the OST box office, at (712) 332-7773, or online at eventbrite.com. Visit okobojisummertheatre.org for more details.
