As I reflect on the last nine months of preparation for the King Turkey Day weekend, I feel very thankful.

It has been a huge honor to be a part of an amazing group of people who meet the third Wednesday of the month starting in January and countless other meetings for the committees. This group of volunteers are so dedicated to making the festival the best in the tri-state area. I think we accomplished that yet again this year. The board members are Doug Tate, Jason Johnson, Ryan Loomans, Kelly Eggers, Jay Jensen, Anne Bruns, Mark Freese, Anna Mahlberg, Leslie Burnham, Dawn Teerink, Darcy Poppema, Nate Van Note, Dave Van Hove, Susanne Murphy, Alex Pass, Jaime Salinas, Bruce Kness and Holly Sieve.

We also couldn't make all of this happen with all of our many sponsors so, if you have sponsored KTD in any way, I sincerely thank you. We appreciate you so much. The Chamber of Commerce women are the brains

behind KTD. Thank you Darlene, Alicia and Amy for your countless hours and all the behind-the-scenes assistance that truly keep us on track and making the festival run efficiently. Thank you to the countless volunteers. We need so many volunteers who help starting in the spring with raising Paycheck, designing buttons and T-shirts, putting up barricades, the mixer, the pancake breakfast, the parade, the speaker, the midway, the BBQ contest, Paycheck’s Treasure Chest, the beer garden to cleaning up on Sunday morning.

There are so many to mention I would be afraid I would forget someone. Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy all of the activities the weekend had. We had something for everyone. Lastly, Thank you God for the beautiful weather. We are so blessed.
