The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us.
Some have faced financial hardship. Others have been ill. Others are spending countless hours battling the virus on the front lines.
Then there are our loved ones who have spent the past two months isolated in their homes, quarantined by necessity because of their age, an underlying illness or other reasons.
If any of those situations describes what has happened to someone important to you, then we want you to know we are thinking of you.
We want to help ease the heartbreak by bringing a smile to yours and your loved one’s face.
For generations, community newspapers have been bringing people together, and we are demonstrating that again during this challenging time. Whether you depend on us for critical news about the pandemic, or to promote your business to the community, or to share your children’s wedding with friends and neighbors, we excel at connecting people.
And we want to help you connect with the loved ones in your life being impacted by the pandemic.
In a new feature we call “COVID Greetings,” we are giving readers the opportunity to publish a personal greeting to someone who could use a smile, a little day brightener.
We can help
The Globe publishes personal connections like these every week. Whether they be wedding and engagement announcements, or retirements or anniversaries, we make it possible for you to connect with your loved ones.
And our new “COVID Greetings” will do the same.
Looking for a unique way to surprise your mom this Mother’s Day? Or how about just to say hello to those parents or grandparents who are staying home for their safety during the pandemic? What about publishing a greeting thanking that courageous front-line worker in your life?
We have a simple and easy way to share your well wishes with your loved one, and with the community. We call these announcements “COVID Greetings,” and you will begin seeing them each week on Saturday when they publish with the rest of our community announcements. (Starting May 20, they will be published on Wednesdays.)
By placing a “COVID Greeting,” you’ll be creating a tangible keepsake for life, something that your loved one will keep in their scrapbooks and look back upon. And you’ll be doing it in a unique way sure to bring a smile to their face.
Getting your “Covid Greeting” into the paper is simple:

While the pandemic has changed life as we know it, it has not changed your desire to connect with your loved ones, nor our commitment to connecting our community. And in this time, we want to do what we do best: Connect you to the people you love.
We’ll start by sharing your personalized “COVID Greetings,” bringing smiles to the faces of one loved one at a time.
