Last Thursday afternoon, a small and remarkably enthusiastic group of young folks showed up unexpectedly at the Daily Globe to promote what they're calling a national effort to erase bullying.
That effort is coming in large part through the development of ImGettingBullied.com, which is described as being "a "national website, family resource and direct service program dedicated to showing students the power they have to change their schools, communities and lives."
The goal of ImGettingBullied.Com is to reach out to community members, parents, educators and students, encouraging all parties to take active roles in improving the lives of the countless numbers of young people subjected to bullying. It's a noble effort, to be sure, but what makes this effort special is that it began right here in Minnesota with a group of eighth-graders.
On Thursday, Worthington was just one of many stops on a 10,000-footstep tour that has taken its participants around the state. We encourage our readers to visit the ImGettingBullied.com website to learn more about this important effort -- and then consider any way assistance may be offered. After all, making our communities better places to live is up to all of us.
