In John Terhark’s letter of Dec. 29, 2015, letter, “JBS, union leaders need to do more for employees,” he criticizes the local union leadership for recent changes in the collective bargaining agreement. That criticism is something to be expected and it comes with the territory.
However, his assertion that three fourths of his co-workers are illiterate is reprehensible and just plain wrong. The hard working women and men of UFCW Local 1161 deserve an apology.
Oh, and by the way Mr. Terhark, it’s UFCW Local 1161 - not 1160.
